There is also a Google Shadow Bonus found here.
Below is a excerpt from Google Shadow:
"Hi. I’m Tim Houston, I’m lazy and I make (very) high 5 to low 6 figures every month by direct linking affiliate offers to PPC engines like Google, Yahoo or Microsoft. What I am going to share with you here will go against a lot of what you hear from the “experts”. I won’t try to convince you my way is the best, I just want to show you how I do what I do. I am proof that you can do a lot of things wrong and still be successful. Whether or not you take action is up to YOU.
What’s the point of this eBook?
I’ve made a comfortable living as an Internet marketer since 2003. I’ve also shown quite a few people my methods and many of them have gone on to make an extra US$2,000 to $60,000 a month. I want to pass on the same knowledge to you. I am going to teach how I do things. Not the best way, not the only way, just the way that has worked for me. This book is going to show you the most basic way of doing things. It’s all based on how to manually do this with no tool to automate the process. This is how I started and it’s how I teach everyone to start. I think it’s
important that anyone who does this understand exactly what’s going on at the basic level. This way, when you start to use tools to automate you’ll know what’s being automated and have an appreciation for the benefits of the tools that are out there. Also, you’ll be able to manually adjust things if you don’t have access to the tools.
I’m going to teach you everything I can about my methods. All you have to do is apply them. Just reading this won’t help you, you actually have to do it. I can lead you to the water but you actually have to drink it.
Why am I telling you how I do what I do?
This is a question I always ask myself when I see products that say I make gazillion dollars, here’s how I do it:. So, let me answer that question for you. I’ve taught many people my method and, the ones who actually took action have been very successful. Several have quit their jobs and the ones that are still working enjoy their jobs too much to quit (don’t ask me - I don’t get it either). One of my principles in life is to help other people become financially
independent. I also believe that there is plenty of opportunity for everyone. Oh, and I wanted to make a few bucks selling my methods too.
What do I do?
Here it is in a nutshell: I take just about any affiliate offer and place it directly into the paid side of the search engines. That’s it. I generate five to six figures in commissions every month by repeating this process over and over again. Obviously, there are some tricks and techniques I use in this process and that’s what I am going to share with you in this book. Hurdles to be aware of before you begin.
If you want to make good money online without a website, without a product, and without customer support my system works. It not only works for me, it works for countless friends and subscribers that I’ve shown throughout the years. However, you should know what to expect mentally as you do this. I’ve seen this over and over again from people I’ve shown.
The first stage is the sense of being overwhelmed by the concepts and terminology used in affiliate marketing and PPC.
The second stage is frustration. I’ve heard it over and over, “this doesn’t work.” “I’m not making any sales.” “I lost $50.” And so on. I’ve heard this from the people who give up as well as the people who are successful. The difference between success and failure is perseverance.
The funny thing is that the people who quit here usually only have written a handful of ads, almost always less than 100.
The third stage is when sales first start coming in. They may be from the same merchant or spread across several. You aren’t profitable yet.
The fourth stage is when you start to see multiple sales from the same merchant and patterns begin to emerge. Things are starting to click, but there’s still some frustration.
The fifth stage is when you start to think, that hey this really works. You’ll start to see profits. You’re beginning to see the potential.
The sixth stage is where you realize that you’re an affiliate marketer. You’ve become comfortable with the search engines and affiliate networks. You’re looking for new products to promote and new networks to join. Your bills are paid by your affiliate marketing efforts. You can quit your job, if you want. You can work wherever, whenever, and however you want.
The points to remember here are:
-There WILL be frustration along the way.
-You must take action, not just once but consistently.
-Perseverance pays off.
One key to success is setting specific, measurable goals such as: write 50 ad groups per day, sign up for a new affiliate network every week, etc. If you want to grow your profits you have to keep moving forward. You can take time off once you’re making the money you want to make.
Until then, massive action is required. A perfect example of this is Jason. He saw a little bit of potential and immediately decided to lock himself in a hotel room for a week and did nothing but write ad groups. Then he quit his job because he was making enough online to do so. The bottom line is that it’s up to YOU to take action. Doing nothing will get you nothing. This is a numbers game. The more ad groups you write the more money you make. I’d say
that 9 out of 10 fail. Out of the ones that don’t fail a small percentage make a good amount of money, the rest just trickle in a little here and there. Let me give you an average of what I’ve seen. If you write 500 ad groups this is what I would expect on average: 450 of those ad groups either lost money or didn’t show enough times to generate sales. 35 of those ad groups are generating a few sales here and there, maybe a couple hundred bucks a month combined.
10 of those ad groups are generating a few hundred dollars in sales per month each. The final 5 are your big winners. These could each generate around $500 to $1000 or more per month. $2500 per month net for 500 ad groups is average using my method.
Now, obviously there are extremes on both sides of that. Here are two examples of people at both ends of the spectrum. The first is a friend of mine who spent about 30 or 40 hours (once) writing ad groups about 2 years ago. That’s all the ad writing he did, and he was making $2500 to $3000 a month net for about 18 months. In the last 6 months his income has dropped to about $1000 to $1500 a month but it’s still going. He told me he logs in and checks his accounts about once a month, if that. Let’s say that he’s got 80 hours wrapped up in this, which is probably high. And let’s take the low numbers of $2500 times 18 months plus $1000 times 6 months. This means that he made a total of $51,000 for 80 hours of work which breaks down to $637.50 an hour if you need to think of it in dollars per hour. This is definitely atypical, but not bad eh?
Now, on the opposite end of the spectrum was another friend I showed my method to a couple of years ago. She spent many, many hours writing ad groups – about 800 ad groups– she only had success with one ad group. However, she was still making $4,000 per month at the high end and about $1000 a month on the low end. This means that she made approximately $60,000 for 200 hours of work, which is about $300 per hour. Even though she remained
frustrated the whole time, she persevered and made thousands per month.
DIRECT LINKING IS NOT DEAD
I do quite well and I know quite a few people who do well with direct linking. The one trait we all share is that we have all taken action. We all consistently work on our businesses. For those of you who may already be familiar with Internet marketing and, more specifically, PPC marketing you’ll notice that I do A LOT of things ‘wrong’. Here’s a partial list:
1. Small keyword list (no keyword research)
2. No landing pages
3. No link cloaking
4. No content bidding
5. No negative keywords
6. No list building
7. Very little bidding on typos
8. I don’t use external conversion tracking. (I still do everything manually with
spreadsheets: but not for long).
There’s more that I do ‘wrong’, but that to me means that there’s even more opportunity that I have to tap into. I’m just lazy; I just found something that worked and did it over and over. The key point here is that I have taken action. If you want to be successful must take action as well.
So, back to the topic at hand, what I do is sign up for an affiliate offer from an affiliate network or directly from a merchant. Once approved, I take the affiliate URL and go directly to the search engines and create an ad for that affiliate offer. I bid high (typically $1 or more per click) on a very simple list of keywords usually the product or company name and URL. Once I start to see some traffic going to my ad I check to see if it’s made any sales. If not, I pause the ad. I like to fail fast. I want to know if something is not working right away. The sooner I know it won’t work
the sooner I can stop any losses. On the opposite end I like to succeed fast, if it has made sales I change my bid quick. I shoot for a 2:1 ratio ($2 made for every $1 spent). But my main focus is to maximize profits – not keep a specific ROI. I’d rather profit $3000 at a 1.5:1 ratio than $2000 at 2:1. So in order to do this I raise bids on the winners quickly. I generally do this after just one sale. I’ll talk more about my specific bidding strategies later."
